Nepal is one of countries with the youngest educational system in the world. Until recent years, Nepal still applies a three-tier education system, modeled after the traditional education system of India, that is, students spend 10 years at general schools, 04 years for higher education and 02 years for the Master program.

Education in Nepal keeps improving throughout the twentieth century. In 1951, Nepal had only 9,000 primary students, 1,700 secondary school students and about 100 students enrolled at two universities. Lacking universities, adult education only accounts for 5%.

From 1971 - 2001, the number of primary pupils increased from 400,000 to 3.9 million, secondary school students increased from 120,000 to 1.5 million and after tertiary education students increased from 17,000 to 210,000. The literacy rate has been greatly improved, from 23% in 1981 to 54% in 2001.

At the meeting, the two sides agreed upon a number of cooperation areas regarding degree and non-degree training and science research. On behalf of the Nepal Ministry of Education and Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Dev Raj Adhikari affirmed that the Nepal Ministry of Education is always willing to act as a bridge for cooperation between Vietnam National Academy of Education Management and other universities in Nepal … Impressed by the achievements of NAEM in recent years, Prof. Dr. Dev Raj Adhikari hopes to soon have effective and meaningful cooperation programs between the two sides, contributing to improving the quality of education in Nepal.
