International Conference on “School Governance in the context of Education Innovation”
Implementing the annual science tasks of the year 2019, on November 26th 2019, National Academy of Education Management held the International Conference on “School Governance in the context of Education Innovation”

Prof.Dr Pham Quang Trung, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee, President of NAEM delivered opening remarks

The seminar was attended by Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Trung, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of National Academy of Education Management; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Hoan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy President of NAEM; Prof. Dr. Thai Van Thanh, Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training; and participation of scientists, education managers of nearly 20 international delegations from US, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia, Laos, ... and international organizations in Vietnam such as WB, ADB, UNESCO, British University in Vietnam. Representatives of MOET Leaders, DOETs and other national and international research institutes, universities and educational organizations across Vietnam together with lecturers, teachers, undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Hundreds of papers have been well submitted by scientists, authors, teachers and education managers from MOET, DOETs, national and international universities, colleges, research institutes and general schools. Accordingly, 53 outstanding papers with excellent quality were selected to be included in the Conference Proceedings after critical review and edition (published in the Journal of Education Management, Special Edition, November 2019).

The workshop focused on the main content: 1) the general governance viewpoints and policies in the context of education innovation. Participants shared about developing school governance capacities; upper-secondary school governors before the request of education renovation; governance of general schools with the semi-autonomous semi-public school model; policies, mechanisms and conditions to improve the quality of universal governance in the context of educational reform in Vietnam ....; 2) on high school governance in the context of educational innovation. Including content: strategic school management; manage student education activities; administrative governance; managing the quality of human resources in high schools ...

The Coference has successfully created a forum for national and international educational researchers, policy makers, education managers and teachers to share viewpoints and practices as well as research findings on school governance in the context of education innovation in Vietnam.
